This is a Nobel Prize winning economist. I like the way he thinks. I hate to try and match wits with this guy but....
Another good reason why we should go for Universal Health care NOW is that it will make us stronger as a country. How many people do you know as an individual that struggle , in one way or another, with access to health care. Not having care for all is holding us back as a country.
There is a part of the Conservative view of care that says that we as health care users should Shop for care and drive costs down with the inherent competition that would result from such an exercise as shopping for the lowest cost provider. Sounds good doesn't it. Medical consumers going around finding the best deal for a Doc and then Docs cutting their price so they can get your business. Well I've seen this .....and its Nuts.
When you need a surgery, like a broken arm....you can look around for a deal....but its not like you are buying car insurance....you're in pain.
We have hard working citizens that are not getting the care they need and that is slowing us down . Pass the Universal Care...employ a Doc.
