Talk is Cheap ...But it costs US Plenty

We have elected a good man to be our President. He is smart, makes good decisions and has no reputation as a person that has bad habits. Yet some how some way I can't get it out of my mind that we will figure out a way to screw this thing up. And with good reason too. Because there is such an array of voices in our national political and cultural scene that are all just waiting to create a splash in the media sea of opinion. Lets face it, things are said or written during any given talk radio day or news cycle that the supposed expert commentator doesn't really believe themselves. The shame is that while they go on and on about the stupidity and financial motives of our ELECTED leadership we , as readers or viewers or listeners, forget that the media darlings are just really earning a living themselves. And, doing so in a biased format that requires them to stay on their preselected side of the fence.

Does Rush believe that Obama is a Marxist? Does Boortz believe that our government should be so limited that the only department should be the defense and the courts? Were I able to ask each of them such a direct question there would be all kinds of qualifying and counterarguments that really don't matter to me. The point is that on a daily basis they spout their pointless and inaccurate talk all the while entertaining and audience that listens to their drivel as if it was serious factual work. When it is really entertainment. When it is really a way for these guys to earn a rather good living....at the expense of the progress of our nation.

There is a certain safety in having as a basis for your argument some unrealistic goal or framework. Those that confer to themselves the mantle of Libertarians have a beautiful perch to start any discussion from. Their proposed profile for our government is so limited. Their version is so remotely possible that as a proponent of such a government you have really no chance of actually having to make such a unrealistic system work. You just have the ability to sit back and criticise all those that are actually trying to run a country.
