When I was growing up I had an older brother that always had the answer to everything. What ever the subject or topic his answer was correct and naturally what follows ...I was wrong. Finally, I came up with the idea that by simple logic he could not be correct every time. I had to admit that he was human and humans make mistakes...therefore he could not be accurate All the time.
Day in and day out there is a voicing of opinion being broadcast over the airwaves. These radio heads have THE answer for every topic. Never do you have one of these brainiacs say something like," I'm not sure about this one maybe Senator Liberal from California has the best answer".What happens is that they always demonize, diminish or minimize the views that differ with their sacred creed.
Radio Heads are consistent in their conservative world view to the exclusion of others. To them, conservatism dwells in the house of certainty that has as its foundation the concept that anything not conservative is inherently wrong. This certainty is then conveyed to their active listeners as absolute fact .There is no variance from the idea that government anything is always wrong, or from the idea that those that don't agree with the creed are somehow either really stupid and/or a liar.
Well the truth is that just like my older brother none of us is saddled with the correct answer all the time . The truth is that when the radio heads start talking you need to start discounting what they say by about half. They live in the world where a half truth is just as good as the whole truth. They would rather tell a conservative lie that a liberal truth. They are held hostage by their own mythology and cannot vary from what is considered conservative and dare not allow for a liberal thought.
During last summers attempt to pass an immigration bill into law the cry went out to stop the amnesty for those ILLEGAL immigrants. Never did the radio heads offer up the idea that our government was complicit in the illegal entries into our country by our own lack of enforcement and the overwhelming need for the cheap labor which resulted in years of very little work visa enforcement. Amnesty was the catch word shouted over the airwaves and the truth is that the deal for the immigrants was far from amnesty. They shouted a lie long enough and it became their version of truth.
My older brother hasn't admitted fallibility and I'm sure the Radio Heads won't either.
