GOP Convention ...Its Grand ,Its Very Old and its a Party for White People

When the hurricane started to look like it was going to interrupt the convention proceedings I am sure that Senator McCain looked to the heavens and thanked the Lord. The extra attention being focused on the hurricane took some of the attention away from the comparison between the really exciting Democratic Convention and the very boring GOP. The party of Lincoln is now very old and very white. Just look at the crowds and see the sea of white older people applauding Joe Lieberman as he spins off a riveting speech about Senator McCain. I didn't think the Senator ,TV star ex-candidate was really on his game either.He is a good speaker but not so much last night.

As the Govenor Palin saga unfolds there is a cry coming out from the Righty Media concerning the attention being given to the multiple facets of her family life. The cry is getting louder by each day. Its as if this is all normal, or should be. On what planet do we seek out a candidate that will be one very old heartbeat away from the leader of the Free world that has five kids,is a beauty queen and a grandchild on the way? What ,we should just sit by and smile and act like this is ideal. This is the Best we can do? If the John McCain camp won't sort out just who this lady is then Thank God the news media will.

There is plenty of talk about judgement in this race. The timeline of this Veep selection really has some gaps in it. From what I can tell it was a real shot from the Senator's Hip and now the GOP is having to put the best light on it that it can. I think that Old John thought that if he chose a woman with kids that the Hillary Ladies would vote and support her. He didn't count on the Hillary Ladies wanting to vote for a woman that actually agreed with them on the issues.
