Paying Taxes ...Apparently its Complicated For Everyone

So far both our new Secretary of Treasury and The Secretary of Health and Human Services have ended up with net taxes due after their vetting process came to the close. I don't see a problem with this and I wonder why its not a view more commonly voiced. The main argument for keeping these two appointees centers around the idea of a special person for the right job....this argument works for me.

I'll take it a step further. What gutless leadership it would be if you didn't back an appointee with such a minor issue. Bill Clinton did just that on a couple of nominations and I've always thought it was silly. I'm glad to see that Obama has the political stones to stay with who he thinks should be on the job. Not doing so would be a waste.

Lets face it, these are people that have very busy lives. Not filing and paying the exact correct tax amount is not surprising. They were prepared by a CPA, quickly reviewed by the client, a check written and tax filed. In one case the tax was audited by the IRS and still wasn't found to be incorrect until the vetting process. Just once I'd like the appointee to say something to the effect that ...lets re-run the numbers on your return Mr.Pundit. I'm sure if we did re-run the numbers on any wealthy return we could come up with a range of tax liabilities.
