Our country is facing some serious challenges.Fuel prices that keep going up, the Taliban is not stopping in Afghanistan causing our Army to be stretched thin and our economy is experiencing a downturn not seen for decades. We are now Challenged. And it just might get much worse.
Have we , as a country , faced challenges before .....you bet we have. Are we up to the challenge ....I think we are. But , something needs to change. Both the White House and Congress need to stop acting like this is business as usual .
Business as usual is really kind of a sweet deal when you are a President, Congressman or a Senator. All kinds of fun things to do like meet and greet athletic champions,Miss Georgia,or even take a junket to some exotic place . Don't tell me the travel is hard work,and don't tell me that the " make work" you cause by visiting a facility somewhere in middle America is worthwhile . Oh there was a time . A time when we were cruising along maybe with the only issues on the table were not too serious; vote on a new damn ,a new aircraft carrier or even an appointment to the court. Now is the time to become the leaders that you have always claimed you were.....time to go to work. Gosh ,they could even work a five day week!
The change that is needed is simple . Get together and talk, disagree and compromise . Stop all this glad handing and traveling and acting like everything is just fine. Meet with members from both parties and both houses and solve some problems. Our representative don't have time to have a photo taken with the beauty queens , they don't have time to travel on a junket to Bali. Just Stop . Our President needs to cut back on the ceremonial aspect of his job and become a CEO that doesn't have time for anything but business of solving problems through leadership, coalition and compromise.
Congress has missed the kinds of change that us workers have experienced . They work the same hours and in the same way that they have for many , many years. Ask a Banker or a Doctor if they thought they would eventually be working on Saturdays or Sundays and if it is business as usual for them. These kinds of changes have taken place all across the workplace ....but not Congress.
But here they sit.Going on the TV and spouting the same party line that they always do and just look at the rating the are getting.....worse than the Presidents. They have a ton of traditional events and activities that they have always done....
Our Leaders need to Change and Become a part of this world that we live in . Or ,we need to hire some new ones that will.

Vote Obama he is the holy man that will come to our rescue for he has secrets that only he knows that will save us. Secrets that he can only share when he is elected.
Bottom line, we can't get serious when we believe and buy into the supernatural. We are children.
